JEDI Student Leaders

The Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Student Leaders are a group of Babson Undergraduate Students who serve as representatives of the Office of Multicultural and Identity Programs. JEDI Student Leaders are tasked with thinking uniquely, critically and creatively about ways to help maintain a Babson Community that is brave, empathic, socially just and equitable for students across all social identities.

Through the office of MIP, the JEDI Student Leaders work to strengthen the student environment and advance the creation of an inclusive and affirming community through partnerships with students through conducting educational, cultural, social, and personal enrichment programs that promote dialogue, cultural awareness, intercultural knowledge and skills, and social justice principles. To this end, JEDI leaders work together as a team to educate and support each other along with fellow students and catalyze learning around many social identities, including but not limited to:

Ability, age, faith and religion, social-economic status. race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual and romantic orientation, language and more. 

JEDI Student Leaders will work closely with MIP in the creation of an inclusive and affirming Babson community by building relationships with students through:

• Supervision of the Diversity Suite and serving as a peer-to-peer support person for other students and make warm referrals to other campus partners as needed
• Co-facilitation meetings and workshops with a MIP Staff Member around issues of DEI&B
• Development and implementation approved community programs, including our weekly Community Conversations group sessions
• Hosting Instagram Take-overs that initiate dialogues and educational opportunities around DEI&B
• Active participation and engagement in all programs hosted or cosponsored by MIP
